Write an analysis of 500-600 words answering the following question according to the requirements below:

What role do the salutary tales play in the narrative?

In Apuleius Books 1-3 Lucius receives numerous warnings about the dangers of witchcraft and magic but he either misunderstands or ignores them. Choose one of these passages and explain what the warning contained in it is, and how and why Lucius fails to see its intended meaning.

  1. Make sure you have read the text carefully and listened to the all the available presentations on Apuleius’ Golden Ass before you begin (i.e. presentations on Apuleius, Books 1-3);
  • Do not use any materials other than the required translation of the Golden Ass
