In this assignment, you will identify factors that may cause stress and explain the mortality rates for a criminal justice profession.

In this module, you learned about different kinds of stress factors that may impact criminal justice professionals. You also learned about the mortality rates for various criminal justice professions. For this assignment, you will choose one profession to focus on. This profession will be the basis for both this assignment and for Project Two, which is due in Module Six. You will look more closely at job factors that may create stress for the criminal justice professional, as well as the amount and different types of death for the profession.

First, choose one criminal justice profession to focus on. The What Can I Do With My Degree? resource may be helpful. You can click on the “Learn More” button below the career chosen for additional information. Then, address the following rubric criteria:

  • In 75 to 100 words, describe critical incidents that may create stress for the profession.
  • In 75 to 100 words, describe ongoing job factors that may create stress for the profession.
  • In 75 to 100 words, describe the number and types of line-of-duty deaths for the profession.
  • In 75 to 100 words, describe the number and types of self-inflicted deaths for the profession.

Note: Not all information needed to address the rubric criteria will be found in the resource sections in this module or in the career resource listed above. You may have to research some information on your own. Any sources should be cited according to APA style.
