Powerpoints required for Informative and Persuasive - Oral Communications/Research/P_407A_FA21_WE

You will create a PowerPoint for both of these speeches to increase the visual impact of your language.   4-5 slides are usually sufficient.

They are not a printed copy of your speech.  It is not a teaching PowerPoint; we generally don't want words! You will use pictures, images, charts to get your ideas across.   If a picture doesn't carry into the next idea you're talking about, and you don't have a picture for your current idea,  go to a black screen.

You will want to practice your speech with your PowerPoint!

You can get help in the Academic Support Center or the Writing Center for your PowerPoints!

You will work on your PowerPoint after you have done all the research and planning for your speech.

This is not to show how fancy a PowerPoint you can make but how simple slides with pictures can help you tell your story!

Each picture in your PowerPoint needs to be cited in tiny font next to the picture.

You will have a separate Works cited page that cites your pictures by slide with the URL or other identifying information for the picture.
