Indicative Marking Guide (equal weights, 5 marks each)

  1. Topic clear, story (“narrative”) clear
  2. Main result/ message/ take away clear (Do you have a clear result, a clear take-away message?)
  3. Slides look professional, are polished and high-quality; Tables and graphs are high quality and clear; if tables and graphs are copy and pasted from other sources = 0 marks
  4. Data/ sample rich (i.e. student analysed a lot of data - one time-series (e.g. 500 observations) -> not rich, 500 time-series (e.g. 500 x 500 observations = 250,000) -> rich)
  5. Deep analysis: analysis of topic and data sound, clear and deep
  6. Bonus: creativity, i.e. student shows creativity in analysing data, presenting data and results, interpreting results etc.

Prepare for a 5-min presentation if randomly selected.

 Note: A very poor presentation is not a good signal and may suggest that you do not fully understand the topic and your analysis.
