Throughout the course, you will prepare brief PowerPoint training presentations—in Modules Three, Four, Six, and Seven. These presentations will help you prepare for Final Project II, the coding compliance training presentation that you will present to health information managers at the case study organization, Healthy Health Center.

For this activity, you will consider the importance of having procedure in place to query the physician when an error is suspected in the medical documentation. Further, you will develop a brief presentation to train health management professionals on procedures for querying a physician.

Prompt: First, read Chapter 10 in your text and review the additional resources presented in Module Seven, including the Healthy Health Center Case Study document.

Next, in a brief PowerPoint presentation (as a training aimed at health information managers), address the following:

Query Policies

• Develop a new policy for querying physicians in the organization.

Query Procedure

• Develop a step-by-step procedure on querying the physician. Be sure to include when, and in what format, queries should be created.

Documentation Measurement and Accuracy

• How will you measure improvement of clinical documentation accuracy after the training is given and the new procedure is implemented?

Support your responses by referencing the text, the module resources, and other course resources. 

Note: Though aimed at health information managers, your PowerPoint presentation should be fit to present to the leadership team of the healthcare organization. Be sure to anticipate questions that leaders such as the chief financial officer (CFO) or the chief information officer (CIO) might have, and include answers to these questions in the notes sections of the slides.
