Organizational-Behavior-in-Action Project:Phase 2 Task

Introduction
As you know, Organizational Behavior is a course that studies people and how they behave in various organizational settings. Understanding the communication patterns and behaviors of individuals, as well as the distress signals that might adversely affect their performance, can significantly increase your chances for success as a manager.

Regardless to what your raw scores are for each of the 7 Life Languages on your personalized Life Languages profile, you can learn to more effectively communicate through each of the 7 Life Languages by increasing your communications through the positive characteristics of each language and decreasing your communications through the negative characteristics or distress signals of each of the 7 Life Languages.

This is an interesting, insightful, and exciting project that most students thoroughly enjoy because they learn so much about themselves and others, and, as a result, are able to improve both their personal and professional relationships by applying the information learned. Remember, your success as an employee and a manager, to a large extent, will be based on how well you are able to understand and relate to others.

Specific Guidelines
After thoroughly reading your Life Languages personalized profile and the information I have posted in the Organizational Behavior-in-Action folder for this project, write a four pages or more double-spaced, paper (size 12 font), divided into four parts. Type Part 1: or Part 2: etc, before beginning each part of this paper. Start each Part on a new line. However, do not skip any extra lines when transitioning from one part to the next part of your paper. Each Part of your paper should contain the following information:

Part 1: Read the information in the chart at the top of the first page of your Life Languages profile. Briefly identify, in one or two horizontal (not vertical) lines, each of your Life Languages and the score---in descending order---from the Primary language all the way down to the Weakest language. For example: Mover--77.8, Producer--62.4, etc. Also identify your Intensity Level score, which can be found on the last line of the same information chart.
Part 2: After reading your entire Personalized Life Languages profile, describe what you learned about your communication behaviors that will help you to more effectively communicate with and relate to others as an individual, an employee, and/or a manager? In addition, in this section of your paper, based on your unique set of the 7 Life Languages, how would you describe yourself as: 1. An employee; 2. A manager; A team member; 4. A college student; 5. A family member. (Describe yourself in at least 3 sentences per role---two sentences identifying your positive strengths, and one sentence describing one or more areas that you need to improve in.)
Part 3: What did you learn about yourself from reading the detailed information in your Life Language Profile about the following variables: A. Intensity Level; B. Major Desire: C. Filter; D. Need from others; E. Personal Success Trait (needed): F. Personal Success Habit; G. Susceptibility to Stress; H. Interactive Style; I. Learning Preference; and J. Internal Control. AND, how will knowledge of this information help you to understand and manager others more effectively? (When typing Part 3, identify each component as I have above, i.e., A. Intensity Level (then discuss what you learned about yourself from reading the information about your Intensity level, etc.) Do this for each of the variables mentioned above.
Part 4: After reading the positive characteristics and distress signals for each of the 7 Life Language in the Effective Business Communications---The Life Languages Way document that is located in the OB-in-Action folder, what have you learned about each of the 7 Life Languages that will help you be more effective as a team member, a leader, and a motivator? More specifically, for each of the 7 Life Language, Identify two or more suggestions for communicating through that particular language in order
to be more effective as a: (1) team member; (2) leader; (3) motivator. (When providing this information, you should have at least six suggestions (three per category) for each Life Language.) Type each language in Bold print and then type your comments below it in regular print, as I have done in the example below:

The Mover Language:
(Team Member) 1.
Movers tend to have the ability to make quick decisions. This skill can be used to help keep the ball rolling and team moving forward. 2. Movers are good at generating new ideas, which is very helpful for brainstorming activities for the team.
(Leader): 1. Movers have high standards, which are important for the leader to exemplify. 2. Mover’s are naturally visionary and can see what others don’t often see. This is helpful for a leader when moving an organization forth through long-term strategically planning.
(Motivator) 1. Although Movers can be direct, they must do so without being rude, blunt or abrupt in order to motivate others. 2. Mover’s are very persuasive and often have high energy. This can help motivate others because it tends to generate confidence.

NOTE: Please remember that the number of points that you earn for this project will be based on how well you follow the instructions when creating your paper. Your paper can be longer that five pages; however, if it is less than at least five-full-pages, and/or if you do not follow the guidelines I have detailed above, you will not be able to receive the maximum amount of points for this project.
I look forward to reading your paper.
