Pothead Subculture

Example of Case Study and Historical Quote

Carlos Sanchez is a 22 year old hipster, who just wanted to have a little fun in his life. He, like so many other young people, view clubbing and drugging to be a rite of passage in American culture. Unfortunately, he tried one specific drug, and on that one night he was hooked for what became two years of his life. He became an addict that fueled his near-death experience (“Sanchez, Life in the Club”). Doctor Joseph Kern, addiction specialist at Mayo Clinic, observes that, “crystal meth came on the scene in 2005, with the explosion of clubs” (320). [Analysis]
