You are required to write an essay in two parts.
Part 1: You have two options as follows. The length of the report should be no more than 2000 words excluding references and appendices.
Option 1 – Identify a start-up (less than 7 years old) and conduct an analysis of the start- up’s business model and its scalability. It is highly recommended that you choose a start-up that is not too big or has scaled significantly such as Google or Facebook. Part of the assessment is based on the choice of your startup and why it is interesting to you. 2,000 words excluding references and appendices. Suggested structure of the essay:
- 1) A brief summary of the start-up and why it is an interesting case.
- 2) Analysis of its business model.
- 3) Analysis of its scalability.
- 4) Conclusions
- 5) References & Appendices
The essay should demonstrate your understanding of the conceptual framework discussed in this module and how the framework might be applied in the analysis of the chosen start-up’s business model. The coherence of essay structure and clarity in the overall presentation of the argument, as well as the appropriate use of literature and cases to support your argument, is essential.
Part 2: A statement of which accelerator or incubator you are going to submit the proposed business plan and the rationale of your choice (no more than 500 words excluding appendices).
