Requirements for This Discussion Topic Assignment

Students are required to post one initial post and to follow up with at least two response posts for each discussion topic assignment.

For your initial post (1), you must do the following:

-Of the case study options listed below, choose the one that you are not using for your final project; identify in your discussion title which case you chose to analyze):

o Long-Term Orientation in the Benedictine Monastery of Admont

o American Apparel: Drowning in Debt?

-Using the online ratio analysis app, calculate the current ratio, debt ratio, profit margin, and inventory turnover of the company. Fill out the Financial Analysis Template with the associated values from your calculations.

-Explain what each calculated ratio tells you about how well (or poorly) the company is performing.

-Complete the initial post by Thursday at 11:59 p.m. of your local time zone of the module week.

-Take into consideration material such as course content and other discussion topics from the current module and previous modules, when appropriate.

-Reference scholarly or peer-reviewed sources to support your discussion points, as appropriate (using proper citation methods for your discipline).

For your response posts (2), you must do the following:

-Respond to peers who chose the same case to analyze as you did.

-In response to your peers, review their analysis of the financial ratios. Did you arrive at the same numbers and conclusion as their analysis? Explain.

-Reply to at least two different classmates outside of your own initial post thread.

-Complete the two response posts by Sunday at 11:59 p.m. of your local time zone.

-Demonstrate more depth and thought than simply stating “I agree” or “You are wrong.” Guidance is provided for you in each discussion prompt.
