- Popular culture is based on industries- movies, music, books etc- Before mass media is was very difficult to have pop culture but later with radio/television it is able to grow and it can change what people think of themselves and how they see the world. When a spanish baby girl is born, immediate earrings- because it's a tradition and its attached to the language, if its a girl or boy, if you want to call a baby cute you have to attach gender for spanish.
