 You must submit your Summative Assessment by 2pm on Wednesday 17th January 2018 (Week 14).
 The word limit for this Summative Assessment is 3000 words.
 Answer only one of the three questions provided below.
 Footnotes will count towards the word limit, but the bibliography will not.
 The Summative Assessment must include a bibliography and footnote referencing fully complying with the Assessment Code of Practice.
 One paper copy with a standard cover sheet attached to be submitted to the Student Support Office on the ground floor of the Eleanor Rathbone Building by 2.00pm Wednesday 17th January 2018. This submission must include a standard cover sheet as part of the submission. The standard coversheet is available from the Student Experience Office in hard copy.
 One electronic copy of the relevant coursework must be submitted on VITAL by 2.00 pm on Wednesday 17th January 2018. You will find the link to the Turnitin submission drop box in the Assessment folder of the module.

Answer ONE of the following questions

  1. ‘The Bolam test fails to find the correct balance between the need to respect the diversity of views within a profession and the need to hold members of that profession responsible for their acts.’
    Critically assess the above statement. Your answer should focus on the standard of care in relation to diagnosis and treatment only.
