We will use class time for the brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and peer-editing phases of the essay.  However, you are responsible for making the corrections to your final copy and submitting it on the due date.  Some details regarding formatting of the essay are listed below.

Formatting

• 500-750 words (2-4 Pages; not counting Works Cited)
• 5 paragraph minimum
• Typed in MLA format
  • 12 point font
  • Times New Roman or Arial font only
  • Double spaced
  • Standard/”Normal”  margins (the default in Microsoft Word is 1” all around)
  • Title of essay is centered, regular font size, not bold or underlined
  • Include name, teacher, class, and date,  in the upper left-hand corner
• Paper must be submitted through Turnitin.com

Content Requirements

• Must be at least 5 paragraphs (intro, counter, support, support, conclusion)
• Must use textual evidence that is introduced with author’s own words, cited correctly, and modified appropriately
• Must effectively follow outline and dealing with counterarguments
• Must include Works Cited page
