Planning, designing, and implementing a software solution is always a daunting task, especially when it involves a complex system. In this exercise, I designed and implemented a low-cost SaaS-based hospital information system (HIS) for small-scale hospitals. At the beginning, the exercise seemed somehow challenging and at some point, I even thought of working on a different project. However, after conducting extensive research on the project and consulting different stakeholders, I realized how significant my software solution could be for small-scale hospitals and decided to give it my best shot. The fact that my software solution had the potential of helping small-scale hospitals improve their service delivery greatly inspired me during my project design and implementation processes.
